The Japanese automaker Suzuki will recall some 1,045 Kizashi sedans in China over faults in the gear shift, China's consumer quality supervisor said Thursday.
The affected vehicles, all imported, were manufactured between June 3, 2009 and July 21, 2012, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a notice on its website.
Due to flaws in the gear shift locking mechanism, the shift stick may come loose unexpectedly .
The company will replace the problematic parts free of charge. The recall will start from Jan. 16.
