Chinese smart phones have entered the Malaysia market to challenge Samsung and Apple, according to IDE Malaysia, a local investigation company lately.
This has changed the structure of Malaysia phone market. In the first half year of 2014, the shipment of Chinese smart phones tripled that of the same period of year early.
Among them, Lenovo is the leader, to be followed by Mi and Oppo. Although sales of major companies like Samsung and Apple are stable, their market shares have dropped sharply, IDE Malaysia claimed.
According to IDE Malaysia, the prices of most Chinese smart phones in the Malaysia market are around 200 U.S. dollars. High quality at a reasonable price could be the main reason of Chinese smart phones to win popularity.
IDE Malaysia predicted that sales volume of Chinese smart phones in Malaysia would remain growing, and Samsung and Apple will be forced to change market strategies to meet the challenge.
