Microsoft Corp on Thursday signed a cooperation agreement with e-commerce giant Alibaba Group to jointly crack down on products and services sold on taobao.com and tmall.com that infringe Microsoft's intellectual property rights (IPR).
Alibaba will delete or block Web pages that sell counterfeit or unauthorized Microsoft products after receiving complaints from Microsoft, according to the agreement.
Alibaba will also help consumers facilitate the compensation process if they are misled by online sellers on the two e-commerce platforms into buying unauthorized products.
Microsoft set up an online store on tmall.com in December 2013, selling authorized software products such as Windows 8.
