Southwest China's Sichuan Province is set to entirely lift housing purchase restrictions in the local market, Chengdu-based newspaper West China Metropolis Daily reported on Wednesday.
Restrictions on the local property sector ranging from home purchases to home prices will be removed completely, the report said, citing the Sichuan Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. The report did not reveal when the repeal will come into force.
Unidentified industry watchers were quoted as saying that the latest decision is unlikely to result in a sudden rise in local home prices.
