Foxconn Technology Group, the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer, on Wednesday denied media reports that said it is cutting its massive workforce as Apple Inc faces declining revenue growth and rising wages on the Chinese mainland.
Foxconn will continue to hire employees for its operations and will maintain a global workforce of more than 1 million staff members, the group said in a statement sent to the Global Times Wednesday.
The group said its hiring scale of new staff members is expected to decrease in the next few years, as automation using robots and other innovative manufacturing methods will be increasingly adopted within the group.
