Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry is confident about achieving a trade volume with China of 160 billion U.S. dollars in 2017, according to local media reports.
Minister Dato Sri Mustapa Mohamed said although fewer tourists came to Malaysia after the MH370 incident, China-Malaysia trade was not affected significantly.
The Ministry is working to expand the channels of trade in order to achieve the growth target, including the establishment of the National Export Council.
Prime Minister Najib Razak would preside over the first meeting of the committee on Friday, the minister added.
