Tenor entertains overseas Chinese on New Year

Beijing (CNS) – Chinese tenor Zhang Yingxi will perform for overseas Chinese in Europe during the Spring Festival holiday.

"I used to contact local Chinese at this time during my 4 years of study in the US. I understand their feelings living overseas and I know what kind of performance they want to watch", said Zhang, adding that overseas Chinese are longing to hear greetings from their homeland.

Zhang, as the only Chinese student of Placido Domingo, will sing in Italy; he has chosen Nessun Dorma and O Sole Mio. As a matter of course, he will sing some Chinese songs welcomed by overseas Chinese.

"To perform for overseas Chinese is a pleasant experience for me, and it is very meaningful to celebrate Chinese New Year with them", said Zhang. The tour will kick off on January 3.
