Shanghai (CNS) – Shanghai plans to lure overseas Chinese professionals by making it easier to enter and leave the city in the next five years, according to the Shanghai Talent Development Program released by the Shanghai Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau on Monday.
As part of the 12th Five-year Plan (2011-2015), Shanghai will endeavor to tackle the limitations of the household registration system and reform talent assessment regulations to help capable employees obtain better careers in a fair job market.
The city plans to attract 1,000 overseas professionals in the next five years and nurture 1,000 creative talents.
Over 90,000 people who studied overseas had chosen to stay and start their careers in Shanghai by the end of 2010, while about 80,000 foreign experts had settled in the city during the same period.
