Beijing (CNS) – The volume of trade between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) reached US$362.9 billion in 2011, a rise of 24 percent compared to the previous year, Xu Ningning, deputy secretary general of the China-ASEAN Business Council (CABC), said on Monday.
China was still the biggest trade partner for ASEAN, while ASEAN became China's third biggest trade partner for the first time in 2011, said Xu, adding that the economic cooperation between the both sides is very important.
The council awarded ten Chinese enterprises for their success in ASEAN countries. Representatives of embassies in China for Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, Singapore, Cambodia and Myanmar attended the ceremony.
