Shanghai (CNS) – Low-cost tickets are now on sale for the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Shanghai this year. The cheapest tickets, which have been on sale since Tuesday, cost 80 yuan, less than US$10.

The sale of such low price tickets is designed to attract larger Chinese audiences and promote the sport in China, said the host, who added that plenty of souvenirs will be given out to fans.

The 2012 Chinese F1 Grand Prix will take place at the Shanghai International Circuit on April 15, when seven world champions will compete for the trophy.

Michael Schumacher, Kimi Raikkonen, Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button will set a record for the most world champions competing with each other in the 60-year history of the F1.
