Beijing (CNS) -- Eleven A-class tourist attractions have been stripped of their authorizations due to flaws in management, services or facilities, while five AAAA (or 4A) scenic spots have been ordered to meet qualifications within three months, according to the latest review from the capital's tourism administration.
All 16 attractions account for 8 percent of the city's total A to 5A scenic areas, revealed the administration.
The A-class sites include the Xu Beihong Museum, the Badaling Hot Spring Resort, the Wohushan Great Wall and the Duijiuyu Natural Scenic Area in the Ming Tombs. These spots will be allowed to reapply only after one year.
The 4A-class attractions include the Yuan Dynasty City Wall Relics Park, the Shunyi Olympic Water Park, the Simatai Great Wall, and the Tianlongyuan Hot Spring Resort.
The review is expected to serve as a warning to tourist attractions to seriously consider their future management, commented Yu Debing, deputy director of the municipal authority.
