Shenzhen (CNS) -- Foxconn Technology Group is still remembered as the center of a scandal in 2010 when about a dozen of its Shenzhen employees committed suicide in less than one year, but it announced on Monday it will raise the base salary of all its mainland junior staff as of February 1, 2012, and gradually decrease overtime demands.
The salary increase rate was formulated to be between 16 and 25 percent according to the work place, work type and working skills of an employee. This is the third time since 2010 that Foxconn has substaintially raised staff salaries.
The junior staff in its Shenzhen office for instance, receives at least 1,800 yuan per month now, twice that of three years ago. Foxconn's salary standards in all of its mainland offices have risen well above local basic salary levels.
The management group also pledges to be vigilant about assuring leisure time is scheduled for its junior employees through improved efficiency.
The company welcomes labor unions, human resource institutions, or governmental organs to supervise how well their decision is enforced.
