Beijing (CNS) -- From 2006 to 2010, Jiangsu Province in the east of China, Guangdong Province in the south, and Shanghai Municipality in the east are deemed to be the most competitive administrative regions in China.
The evaluation was included in the Report on Overall Competitiveness of China's Provincial Economy released today. The joint report was compiled and released by Management World Magazine under the Development Research Center of the State Council, the Social Sciences Academic Press, and Fujian Normal University.
During the same time span, gaps between the eastern, central, western and norteastern parts of the nation have been narrowing, the report mentioned, while eastern provinces still prevail significantly over the rest, balancing three regions.
High-tech industry contributions, energy consumption and research and development (R&D) costs are the three dominant indexes that shaped the conditions, complemented with regional output value and foreign direct investment figures.
Science and technology weighed more heavily than ever, indicated the report, demonstrating this sector's importance to regional economic strength and competitive prowess.
