Guizhou Peking Opera troupe to enrich London 2012

Guiyang (CNS) -- The Western Guizhou Peking Opera Troupe has been invited by the organizing committee of the London Olympics to perform at the world class sports event.

The only Chinese delegation to take part in cultural exchanges for this year's Olympics is going to introduce the ancient Chinese art to world audiences in Shakespeare's Globe Theatre from August 8 to 12.

In addition to the familiar "Farewell to My Concubine," other classic Peking Operas to be presented include one demonstrating the kung fu arts of eighteen disciples of the Buddha. Body language makes an able interpreter.

Troupe member Feng Guanbo hopes their performances will also bring the world closer to the colorful diversity of Guizhou Province, southwest China. The organizing committee will visit the provincial capital Guiyang in April for a final round of reviews.
