French navy arrives for joint training off Qingdao

The French Navy's light monitoring frigate F734 Vendemiaire entered waters off Qingdao City.

Qingdao (CNS) –The French Navy's light monitoring frigate F734 Vendemiaire, led by captain Chris Rostov Aolielike, entered waters off of Qingdao City, Shandong Province on March 5, with the approval of China's Central Military Commission.

It is the naval vessel's third visit to Qingdao. Ninety-five visitors are carried by the ship, of which 15 are officers and the rest soldiers. The visit will last five days.

On the afternoon of March 5, high ranking French officers visited the North Sea Fleet and met local government officials.

During the visit, the Chinese and French naval officers and their men will visit each other's fleet, stage sports and arts competitions and engage in other recreations.

On March 9, maritime training will be conducted jointly by the French frigate Vendemiaire and the Chinese Navy's frigate Luoyang in the waters off Qingdao.
