Beijing (CNS) –At the BNP Paribas Open from March 5-18, Chinese player Li Na beat Czech player Klara Zakopalova 6-1 and 6-0 on Wednesday Beijing time, and advanced to the women's singles quarterfinals.

After the game, Li Na responded to recent media speculation that she will no longer be representing China in the competitions she enters, retorting, "News makers didn't get the facts straight, and I find it unnecessary to explain further."

Li has been in the spotlight since she captured the 2011 French Open singles title, making her the first player from an Asian country to win a Grand Slam in singles. But Li retains her forthright character, saying: "People who know you will always know you; people who don't trust you will continue to doubt."
