Nanning (CNS) – Guangxi police just days ago smashed an international gang of drug dealers, apprehended 12 suspects, seized 16.62 kg of heroin and recovered 1.5 million yuan of drug money, according to an official source.
After one-month spent conducting a secret investigation, police got familiar with the basic situation and habits of the gang members, including their internal labor divisions and activity patterns. On March 8, when three drug dealers surnamed Liang, Wang and Zhao were setting to transport the drugs to the neighboring province of Guangdong, police closed in.
It is known that Liang used to purchase drugs from an overseas drug lord and sell to other provinces at favorable rates. Liang had been told by a fortune teller that she would have a smooth March, so Liang made her move on March 8.
Guanxi borders Vietnam. People here are able to cross the border easily by water or land, so drug traffickers slide across the long border line almost anywhere. The drugs mainly come from the "Golden Triangle" region.
