Taipei (CNS) -- A ship registered in New Taipei City turned over in the open waters of Keelung on Monday, and seven crew members, including the Taiwanese captain, four crew memebers from the mainland, and two Indonesians are still missing, according to the Keelung coast guard, Tuesday.
The vessel set sail on March 21. Families of the crew reported loss of contact to the coast guard four days later. Not until the next nightfall was the ship identified when fishing boat notified the fishery radio that the missing boat turned over in Keelung's open waters, reported the Central News Agency.
The coast guard office sent rescue vessels to the scene, assisted by a helicopter dispatched by the regional search and rescue center.
The authority transited the shipwreck to New Taipei City on Tuesday evening; there were still no sign of the missing.
The last contact from the crew was recorded on March 23. The captain called his family to prepare for his return.
