Dengfeng (CNS) -- The time-honored Shaolin Temple, a cradle of Chinese Kung Fu, will soon have a new neighbor –the Shaolin Wushu Museum of Songshan Mountain. The foundation work was started on Thursday in the scenic area of the temple in Dengfeng City, Henan Province.
The museum involved an investment of 230 million yuan and covers an area of 200 acres two kilometers from Shaolin Temple.
A local private school sponsored the establishment of the museum, and is also its main investor. The investment of 230 million yuan mainly comes from bank loans and private funding.
The main buildings were designed in the architecture style of the Ming and Qing Dynasties harmoniously incorporating the scenery surrounding the ancient temple. The project is expected to be completed in two years.
