Beijing (CNS) -- A grand ceremony honoring the father of Chinese acupuncture Huangpu Mi (AD215-AD282) from the Wei and Jin Dynasties will be held in his birthplace of Gansu Province from August 6 to 8.
The activity aims to inform the world that the roots of acupuncture are in China, said Liu Baoyan, chairman of China Acupuncture Society, and they welcome acupuncture experts around the world to take part in the event.
Huangpu Mi, an ancient medical scientist, wrote the masterpiece The A-B Classic of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, the classic textbook that built theoretical framework for these famous Eastern treatments. The book spread to North Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia and Europe.
