Beijing (CNS) -- A plan to push China's new-energy auto industry into a high growth phase has been sent to the State Council for review, according to a source from the China Association for Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on April 6.
The plan was co-submitted days ago by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance and other departments.
Key drivers in stimulating the growth of China's auto industry are covered in the plan including moves to establish sound technology standards and improvements to industry access management.
The governmental departments announced on March 6 that there will be no taxation for new-energy vehicles and ships, and half of the original tax on energy saving transportation tools.
China has chosen 25 pilot cities for new-energy auto operation since 2009. In 2012, under policy supports for new-energy vehicles, China's new-energy auto industry can expect explosive growth, predicts an expert from CAAM.
