Shaoguan (CNS) -- The number of child lead poisoning victims in south China's Guangdong Province has increased by more than 100, CNS reported on Thursday.
The new victims, ranging from three to 14 years, were detected in Renhua township during a health check in early April. Previous to this, 160 had been found poisoned across four neighboring villages.
All liable pollutant factories have been shut down or ordered to control their emissions.
The local government is arranging a three-month long diet program for all children affected, especially designed to help them excrete lead from the body while increasing nutrition levels.
