Beijing (CNS) -- Food safety will be the center of agricultural cooperation among China, Japan and Korea, according to the joint communiqué signed during the first ministerial meeting of its kind held in Cheju on Sunday.
The communiqué also touches on prevention of epidemics spread via flora and fauna, management of natural disaster consequences, scholar exchanges, economic partnerships, and mutual interactions in global and regional affairs.
The three parties will enhance talks with ASEAN on building an emergency rice storage regime, and an Asian food safety information system, as well as on extending international cooperation in these regards.
The tripartite cooperation of geographical advantages is in the interests of all parties.
Three ministers pledged to make good use of the platform in terms of sharing agricultural updates, exchanging science and technology developments, promoting efficient trade, and reaching common grounds in regional and international arenas.
