Guangzhou (CNS) -- After a case against Apple was filed by Proview Electronics over their right to use the iPad trademark, the Higher People's Court of Guangdong Province responded on Tuesday that they still expect both parties to use mediation to resolve the dispute.
Vice chief justice Xu Chunjian has remarked that Guangzhou, as the region in the forefront of reform and opening up in China, attracted a great number of domestic and foreign companies, and it was almost inevitable that a series of enterprise lawsuits over intellectual property rights would arise.
Xu said that they will try their best to protect interests of both parties based on fairness and justice, as the court's judgment will most certainly have an impact on the market shares of the brand products or even influence the business mode of the whole industry.
Vice-presiding judge Qiu Yongqing pointed out at the case hearing in February, that the domestic and foreign media permitted to observe the trial were a way to assure the public that open, fair, and just principles were being observed.
Qiu explained they are currently reviewing the evidence and will open another hearing if necessary.
