Chongqing (CNS) -- Chongqing Third Intermediate People's Court brought down its judgment in a case against a gang of drug producers and traffickers caught with more than 150 kilograms of methamphetamine on Thursday.
Seven of the 12 got the death penalty, three with a reprieve, and the remaining five received jail terms from five to ten years.
According to the court, at the end of 2008 the defendant Wu Ya and his team conspired to make methamphetamine (ice). Then at the beginning of 2009, Wu arranged for college graduate Huo Fei to learn the "cooking" skills. The gang managed to produce 140 grams on their first try, and proceeded to expand the scale of both production and dealing.
In April 2009, police successively apprehended Wu Ya and others.
