Beijing (CNS) -- China Chamber of Commerce for North Korea was officially established in Pyongyang, capital city of the Democratic People's Republic Korea(DPRK) on April 27.
More than 40 representatives from local authorities, the Chinese embassy and Chinese and North Korean enterprises attended the inauguration.
Both countries have made progress in economic and foreign trade cooperation in recent years, enthused the Chinese Ambassador to DPRK Liu Hongcai, adding there is a lot of room to enhance cooperation in yet more areas. Liu also said he hopes Chinese enterprises will comply with local laws and respect their Korean partners when they do business there.
Liang Tongjun who became the first chairman of the chamber, pledged the organization will devote itself to serving as a sound communication platform for enterprises members.
More than 50 Chinese enterprises are known to have investment projects or business in DPRK.
