Yichang (CNS) -- The world's largest luxury cruise liner on inland waterways, the Yangtze Gold 2, was delivered to its commissioner on Wednesday, its builder Gezhouba Group confirmed.
The 149.96-meter-long steel liner will largely serve the Yangtze River's main course. It reaches a top speed at 26 km per hour and takes a passenger load of 570. Passengers will find it quipped with large and mid-sized conference halls, multifunctional rooms, a parking apron, mini golf courses, a cinema, Chinese and western-style restaurants, an art street, and other working or recreational venues.
The Yangtze Gold series has altogether 10 liners, all representing investments of two billion yuan (about US$ 317.2 million). The maiden voyage of the Yangtze Gold 1 was made in May 2011.
Gezhouba will finish building the Yangtze Gold 5 soon in mid May, on the same scale as the 2nd.
The Yangtze River is the inland waterway with world's best cruise conditions, a golden opportunity for the luxury cruise liner industry.
