Yeosu (CNS) -- The ocean-themed Expo 2012 Yeosu kicked off Saturday in South Korea, boasting a Robotics Pavilion with a record-high number of robots from France, the US, the UK, South Korea and other countries.

Visitors to the pavilion were greeted by a beautiful robot woman capable of expressing shyness, fear and other looks.

A group of French "Nao" robots, which earned a good reputation at the 2010 expo in Shanghai, also showed off their dancing and speaking skills.

The pavilion welcomed 7,228 people on opening day, about 20 percent of the day's total visitors.

Yeosu is a port city located 300 kilometers south of Seoul. The city has built a gigantic structure in the water to display colorful holographic images and promote the expo.
