UnionPay available in 700 more Taiwan online shops

Beijing (CNS) -- Online payment options via China UnionPay will gradually become available in 700 more Taiwanese online shops that hold accounts in the Cathay United Bank (CUB), the two institutes jointly announced on Wednesday.

CUB is the first Taiwanese bank to open online payment services via UnionPay and all its ATMs and 80 percent of its POS machines have facilitated UnionPay channels. Before this, only the regional credit card center provided online payment services via UnionPay.

CUB will further increase the number of merchants engaged in the special agreement with UnionPay in order to satisfy the demand for more individualized services for card holders. Cross-Straits financial services are also included in the bilateral cooperation.
