PLA Navy vessel 'Zhenghe' convoyed at Gulf of Aden

Gulf of Aden (CNS) -- The Chinese naval training vessel "Zhenghe" entered the Gulf of Aden escorted by the "Yantai," a guided missile destroyer, at about 12:50 a.m. local time on Thursday.

The two ships held a short welcoming ceremony and briefing in the gulf's eastern waters before setting sail for their shared destination of Djibouti Port.

Along the route, the two vessels will carry out joint communications as well as formation and marshalling drills.

The "Zhenghe" is on a world voyage to promote the ideal of "a harmonious world and a harmonious ocean."
