Shanghai (CNS) -- The average salary of senior executives in listed companies in 2011 exceeded 600,000 yuan (US95, 000), 5 percent up over 2010, according to the annual reports of said companies on the Shenzhen and Shanghai stock exchange markets.
According to a 2011 Senior Executive Salary Listing released by Sino Sound Company on May 17, Yu Liang, president of Vanke Group, ranks at the top with an annual salary of 13 million yuan (US$ 2.06 million). China Ping'An Insurance Corp's CEO Ma Mingzhe ranks the second with 9.88 million yuan (US$1.56 million).
Among the senior executives of listed companies, Yu Xiaoyan, general manager of Jiangquan Industrial Company, takes a slim annual salary of only 3,000 yuan (US$475).
Seen from an industry perspective, seven of the top ten general managers come from finance and insurance sectors. General Managers in finance and insurance companies earn an average salary of 2.75 million yuan, the highest of all sectors. Senior executives in real estate and wholesale and retail trades rank second and third.
