Heyuan (CNS) -- The Intermediate People's Court of Heyuan, Guangdong Province, began court proceedings against a Nigerian man in a drug trafficking case on Wednesday. It is the first trial of a foreign suspect in the city.
Abajue Chike S. Ernest is charged with selling 2 kilograms of heroin and hiding another 800 grams, involving 300,000 yuan (US$47,361).
Six Chinese also stand accused of drug trafficking with defendant.
Sentencing will be announced at a later date, the court said.
