Xi'an (CNS) -- It is graduation season again. The first group of post-90s graduates say farewell to college life and capture and commemorate significant turning point of their life in a variety of ways, such as some post-graduation graduation travel, composing and recording a song celebrating their university days, creating a digital photo album to share.

According to rough statistics, each graduate in Shaanxi Province spends an average of 10,000 yuan (US$1,581) on their private graduation project.

"Do you agree that graduation season is a spending spree?" a national online survey asked, and 90.86 percent of the graduates interviewed agreed. A web user named AED said graduation memorial practices include the costs of job hunting, end of term travel, parties with friends and thank you dinners with teachers.

But a number of them insisted that this was something you do now or never.

Fang Haiyun, a local education specialist, said the high cost of graduation may turn into bills that parents are compelled to cover, and he suggested that graduates should select their projects according to their affordability.
