Hong Kong (CNS) -- About 65 percent of Hong Kong locals are happy at work, while professionals are the least happy despite their high social status, according to the region's 1st Happiness-at-work Index for Businesses released by the Hong Kong Productivity Council on Tuesday.
The survey collected 1,328 questionnaires from employers and employees across a variety of industries, including manufacturing, hospitality, logistics, information technology and finance.
The survey found that workers in higher positions are generally happier at their jobs.
If a company has more than 100 employees, they tend to be happier than those in small-scale organizations with better employee benefits, the report also revealed.
In terms of gender, men are happier than women at work, said the report.
