Harbin (CNS) -- An international train from Harbin, China to Vladivostok, Russia was officially put into operation on the night of May 28, connecting these two important cities.
It is the highlight of 2012 Sino-Russia Tourism Year, said Zhang Qiuyang, a railway official in Heilongjiang Province. The direct and convenient route will serve to promote regional cooperation in tourism, economics and trade, education, culture and so on.
One entire run lasts 19 hours. During the journey, passengers are assisted with formal border-crossing declarations at Grodekovo station where tourists transfer to the Russian train.
