Shanghai (CNS) -- China in 2011 became the world's third largest entertainment and media (E&M) market, spending US$109 billion, according to a report released by business advisor PwC on Tuesday.
The report said US spending on E&M hit $464 billion, $193 billion in Japan and $99 billion in Germany, which ranked fourth.
The report includes film entertainment, video games, pay TV, Internet access and online advertising.
Among the countries playing a leading role in the E&M sector, China will develop at the highest speed, said Jiang Xiaopin, a partner at PwC China. We predict that China's spending on E&M will reach US$192.5 in 2016, Jiang said.
