Hong Kong (CNS) -- Hong Kong is home to four giant pandas, each pair a gift of the central government sent in 1999 and 2007 respectively to celebrate the 2nd and 10th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland.
A reporter from CNS visited the furry four recently and found they have adapted to the local environment, and even picked up some local habits. The four giant pandas are fond of drinking Yakult and are multilingual, able to understand their caregiver's commands in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
Jiajia has been a Hong Kong citizen for 13 years now, and will soon see her 34th birthday, an age equal to a one-hundred year old human.
Zhu Xiaozhong, senior curator of the terrestrial animal for Hong Kong Ocean Park, said these cherished gifts to the Hong Kong people, and since the first day of their arrival have made themselves at home in Hong Kong.
