海关总署广东分署19日通报,年初以来广东地区以印度、巴基斯坦、南美等为源头的毒品走私活动有所上升,该省海关今年以来侦破包括“人体藏毒”在内的多起涉外走私毒品案件。
Guangzhou (CNS) -- Since the beginning of 2012, Guangdong Province has seen an increase in the number of drug smuggling cases originating in India, Pakistan and South America, the Guangdong Customs Administration revealed on June 19.
To pinpoint the sources of the drugs, local customs has intensified inspection of mail, and suspect travelers and cargo, achieving remarkable results. On January 12 alone, seven express packages containing ephedrine were seized.
On April 10, the anti-smuggling bureau searched a Colombian gang of five males and two females who concealed drugs in their bodies, and discovered 400 grams of cocaine on site.
On May 4 and 7, the Shenzhen customs office detected two parcels from Uganda containing drugs, specifically 14,004 grams of cannabis. They later apprehended three suspects of foreign nationality.
