Beijing (CNS) -- Over the next month, about one hundred college students from 12 Hong Kong and Macao universities will do internships at 12 cultural institutes in Beijing including the China National Museum and National Palace Museum, as a way to get a better understanding of Chinese culture.
The opening ceremony for Hong Kong and Macao College Students Cultural Practices was held in Beijing on June 26.
The internship will help college students enhance their cultural sensitivity and skills for work, said Xie Jinying, an official from Chinese Ministry of Culture.
The five-thousand-year Chinese civilization is our common wealth, said Huang Zhenchun, vice president of China National Museum, and we are glad to offer college students an opportunity to get close to cultural relics.
Huang Huaixin, a student from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, said she and twelve other students will do an internship at the Prince Gong's Mansion as guides. To fulfill the qualifications, Huang now is reading historical literature about the mansion.
