暑期来临,上网成了孩子主要的休闲活动。台湾最新一项调查显示,孩子暑假变“宅童”,部分人每周上网超40小时。
Taipei (CNS) -- As summer vacation rolls around, it seems surfing online remains a major source of entertainment for children. Children commonly refuse to go outside in the sunshine these days but opt to hunker down indoors, spending more than 40 hours in the virtual internet world per week, according to a survey report issued July 3.
The Child Welfare League Foundation, a NPO in Taipei, conducted the survey on 1,281 pupils in the fifth or sixth grade in March and April. It studies specifically the use of the internet as a past time and possible side effects.
It showed 83 percent of the interviewed children use the internet every day. On the weekend, nearly forty percent of kids spend more than three hours online every day, and ten percent of them spend over six hours online per day.
