Beijing (CNS) -- As the two-month long summer vacation starts across China, the vacation economy is heating up. Tourism, dining and entertainment dollars, plus sales of digital products, are major sectors where students flock and spend.

Travel in west China is popular this year, experiencing a year-on-year growth of fifty percent, and student tourists are taking the lion's share, said one industry expert from a Guangdong travel agency on Tuesday.

At Zhongguancun, a technology hub of Beijing in Haidian District, students crowd daily in front of digital product counters and snap up computers, cell phones and cameras.

And in the eat,drink and be merry season before school starts again, restaurants, cinemas and KTV welcome hoards of student consumers who want to relax after exams and renew their friendships.
