中国确诊的慢性病患者已超过2.6亿人,因慢性病死亡占中国居民总死亡的构成已上升至85%。这是中国卫生部疾病预防控制局副局长孔灵芝在北京透露的。
Beijing (CNS) -- More than 260 million Chinese have been diagnosed with chronic diseases that cause 85 percent of all deaths, Kong Lingzhi, Deputy Director of the Disease Prevention and Control Bureau, said at a press conference Monday.
Major illnesses in China include cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes mellitus and respiratory diseases.
Chronic disease now tops the national health agenda, and countermeasures should include a better health care system, higher prevention and treatment skills, and more effective information sharing, Kong said.
The authority has released a plan to raise the average national life expectancy by one year, as well as improve the nationwide chronic disease information sharing network.
