101件西藏文物精品23日被陈列在西藏博物馆的展柜里。与这里的其它文物不同,这些文物曾漂洋过海,历经数十年甚至百年颠沛,终于再一次出现在它们的故乡——西藏。
Lhasa (CNS) -- As of July 23, 101 cultural relics took their places in the showcases of the Tibet Museum, after in some cases hundreds of years abroad. The show will open to the public for two month since July 25.
The cultural relics include 39 copper figures of the Buddha, 39 sets of Buddhist instruments, 23 Thangka and other items for daily use.
The exquisite cultural relics are of high value to the art world, religious and cultural circles, said Yi Xi, vice chair of the China Minority Cultural Relics Protection Association who helped plan this show.
This batch of cultural relics was returned to Tibet from various countries, mainly the UK, the US, and India. The plunder of Western powers was the major cause of the disappearance of the now repatriated relics.
