China to host first civil aircraft SAR exercise

16日举行的上海海事局今年上半年水上安全形势新闻通气会传出消息：中国首次主办的(民用)航空器遇险联合搜救演习定于今秋在沪举行。

Shanghai (CNS) -- China's first search and rescue exercise for civil aircraft will be held in Shanghai's Baoshan District on September 26, Chen Xiaoguang, spokesman for the local Maritime Safety Administration, said Thursday.

The exercise will be jointly hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Transport, the China Maritime Search and Rescue Center and the local government.

Seventeen ships, three helicopters and one maritime aircraft equipped with life rafts will participate in the exercise, which will include emergency water landings by civil aircraft.
