CCB reports 106.5b yuan net profit in H1  

中国各大银行半年报相继发布 建行净利超千亿

中国各大银行8月以来相继进入半年报披露期，26日晚，中国建设银行公布其2012年度上半年的经营情况：实现净利润1064.94亿元(人民币，下同)，较上年同期增长14.57%.

Beijing (CNS) – China Construction Bank (CCB) announced Sunday evening that its net profit increased 14.57 percent year on year to 106.49 billion yuan (16.8 billion US dollars) in the first half of 2012, in line with the earnings trend of all major banks in China.

CCB said in a report that its interest-bearing assets increased moderately, while expense control, risk management and exchange rates contributed to the increase in net profit.

Net profit from interest rose 23.98 billion yuan (3.8 billion US dollars) from a year earlier, the report said. Earnings from exchange rate change increased to 393.3 million US dollars in the same period.

The data also showed that the non-performing loan rate dropped 0.09 percentage points to 1 percent from the end of 2011. At the end of July, CCB's overseas assets amounted to 85.66 billion US dollars.

The bank's application to open branches in Taipei and San Francisco has also been approved by the China Banking Regulatory Commission and the board of directors.
