Guangzhou (CNS) -- A small wharf from the Ming to Qing Dynasty has been found at a construction site west of Panfu Road, the Guangzhou Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology said Monday.
The site also contains a silt deposit from the Tang Dynasty and a brick well from the Song Dynasty, the institute said.
The dock, which includes a path, steps and bank protection, is almost intact, said Yi Xibing, director of the institute. The silt deposit is 2 meters thick and 5 to 7 meters below the surface.
Copper pieces in the water of the well prove that people lived there as early as the Song Dynasty, according to archeologists.
