Shanghai (CNS) -- A conference on providing one-to-one help for private museums was held in Shanghai Tuesday.

The conference hosted by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage was aimed at improving the preservation of works and the exhibition environments of private museums.

The Liuli China Museum, established by famous Taiwan actor Loretta Hui-shan Yang and her husband, and the Shanxi Guangling Paper-cutting Art Museum received one-to-one assistance at the conference, according to officials from the local institute of cultural relics and archaeology.

Only 551 out of the 3,415 museums meet national management criteria at present, so improving management will be the focus in the coming period, said Song Xinchao, deputy director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage.
