Zhengzhou (CNS) -- Taiwanese enterprises will invest nearly 13.3 billion yuan in Henan, a populous province in central China, according to information released Monday during a cooperative meeting between the two regions.

A total of 21 economic projects were inked with companies like Foxconn, which signed a 60-million-yuan contract on electronic information projects.

Henan had already attracted 1,837 Taiwanese enterprises to invest billions of US dollars, according to previous data.

The Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement signed in 2001 has boosted cross-Straits trade and benefited Taiwanese companies and mainland citizens, Li Yafei, assistant minister of China's Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said during a speech at the ceremony.

More than 300 guests, including business leaders and officials, participated in the meeting.
