Changsha (CNS) -- Five people who damaged private property in the capital of Hunan Province turned themselves in Wednesday after seeing their pictures posted on a police blog.

The vandals were involved in an anti-Japan protest on September 15, when a mob of people smashed Japanese cars and attacked restaurants or shops carrying Japanese products, said Changsha police.

The police posted photos of 20 suspects on a microblog after detaining several vandals and carrying out an investigation.

Most of the people involved in the mob were unemployed, the police said.
