服役了26年的郑州黄河公路大桥,自10月8日零时起终止向过往车辆收费,正式回归公益属性。
Zhengzhou (CNS) – The Zhengzhou Yellow River Highway Bridge in the capital of central China's Henan Province has stopped charging tolls and is permanently free to drivers, a local official said on Sunday.
The National Audit Office found in 2008 that all debts for the bridge's construction had been paid off by 1996, yet it had collected 1.45 billion yuan illegally since then.
The toll-free policy will quicken the pace of integration between cities in central China, said Li Sheng, director of a local bureau of economic development.
The bridge was built in 1986 at a cost of 178 million yuan and is part of the China National Highway from Beijing to Shenzhen.
